Clementine of Italian origin belongs to the family of mandarin trees. Clementine is a cross between a mandarin tree and a sweet orange tree. Clementine is sweeter, juicier and less acidic than oranges. Mandarin essential oil is made from the peel of the clementine fruit.

PROPERTIES VALUED IN FOLK MEDICINE

Mandarin essential oil has an antifungal and skin toning effect. Like all citrus fruits, clementine is high in vitamin C, which helps in the production of collagen and supports the structure of the skin. Containing flavonoids (antioxidants), the oil promotes the skin's ability to heal when wrinkles and signs of aging appear. Clementine oil also contains folic acid, which helps increase circulation, reduce fluid retention. Mandarin essential oil can help relieve unwanted muscle spasms, as well as support lung and respiratory function.

AROMATHERAPIC PROPERTIES

The sweet and refreshing aroma of clementine stimulates the mind and relieves anxiety, tension and stress. Mandarin essential oil is used as a sleep aid. tangerine oil can also be used to enhance a sensual mood.

USE:

Mandarin essential oil is suitable for scent stones, air humidifiers and aroma lamps. 2-6 drops in bath water. For massage oil, dilute up to 5 drops with 10 ml of base oil. 2-3 drops in sauna steam water. Also suitable for scenting laundry by adding to the tumble dryer.

It is also used to scent and enhance home surface cleaners. Add about 10-30 drops of mandarin essential oil along with lemon essential oil to your homemade surface cleaner. Shake before use.

Tangerine essential oil is phototoxic, which means you should not be exposed to direct sunlight after using the oil.
